Baby, flowers & April Showers...

Lots of raining and crazy weather going on right now.  I've been waiting for the sun to peek through the clouds so that I can go out and enjoy the bluebonnets that are in bloom right now!  I really want to get some pictures before they are gone,...if the weather would only cooperate... :-(

Been spending my days cleaning, organizing and catching up on sleep!  It hasn't been too too bad.  Alicia has been sleeping pretty well between 11:00pm and 5:30am.  I have her close by in the co-sleeper and just give her her pacifier a few times during the night and she is fine :-)

My sweet little bundle is over 6 weeks old and almost 8 lbs! She was born at a tiny 5 lbs 14oz. :-)  She has been such a joy.  She is smiling a lot now and we are loooving it.
I was able to set up a little spot for pictures and make a simple backdrop by using some white fabric and a bed frame that I leaned against a wall.  To make it soft and cozy I put a small crib mattress on the floor and a pillow against the bed frame, then I draped the fabric over these. Here are some of my favorites from the little photo shoot I did :-)

One of my projects right now is working on creating a yummy, healthy, & EASY menu.  I'm thinking about trying some freezer meals using some recipes I've seen on pinterest and also trying out some of my own :-).  I made the pioneer womans lasagna last week (made enough for two 8X8 pans - Sorry, I didn't take any pics). We ate one that night and put one in the freezer.  We did have leftovers which we ate for lunch the next day...plus even a little left over for Anthony's lunch the next day at work (beats having a sandwich like he usually eats for lunch).
(Can you get a pan that is smaller than 8X8? The leftovers were good, but it would be nice to have something that is just enough for a meal, ya know? )
We ate the other from the freezer with company. It turned out great right out of the freezer and into the oven!! Definitely a freezer meal I would recommend! I will keep you updated with other good finds.  Anyone have favorite freezer meals & recipes?

Other exciting goings on...
Today I'm trying out our portable washer!(We don't have washer and dryer hook ups in the apartment) I am ridiculously excited!  It's not because I'm crazy and love doing laundry or anything (is that even possible?), but because we haven't had a washer and it is so much easier than having to go out to do laundry or washing things by hand!
I did my research on portable washers and...get this...found one that is recommended by mothers who live in apartments and needed something good enough to clean cloth diapers! Sounded perfect! and so far I'm loving it. I'm on my second load :D We haven't broken into the cloth diapering yet; still using up all the diapers that were given to us at the baby shower :-) - we actually just started using them since she now finally fits in them!! We had to get premie diapers for quite a while ;-)

I will post more details on the washer and how well it is performing after I have had it a little while. :-)

Wow, that's quite a bit of what is going on and I still have more to share...but I think it will have to wait for other post :-)  I have laundry to do ;-) But more to come! Finally going to try and get something together on Alicia's birth story, post about her Baptism, Easter, and I have some fun items that I will be adding to my etsy site that I will share as well.

Hope everyone's week is off to a good start!
