5 Months - Pregnancy Diary, Baby Alicia

5 months preggo...
Memories and pregnancy reminders for the future....

The first three months are the hardest. I don't think I've ever felt so sick in my life as I did for that looooong stretch of time. It felt like forever...

Food, months 1-5
During the first two months, Everything I ate was random and there wasn't anything that worked consistently to help with the nausea. EVERYTHING was coming up....
(My husband helped out so much and took awesome care of me!)

During months 3 & 4, I found that pretzels, slim jims and peanuts were must have on hand items at ALL times.

Months 4 & 5 have been chocolate pudding and LOTS of fresh fruit...
Month 5 has taken most of the daytime nausea away and I am able to pretty much eat normally (Thankfully!!!) The mornings are still a little challenging and I find I do best when I have a little meat in the morning of some kind.

I haven't had a lot of sweet cravings...mostly just mexican (Taco Bell has been a good friend to me)
Sweet tea has been the main drink of choice, and some kind of fruit here and there has been helpful, for the most part.

Water was a big challenge to get down for the first few months unless it was in very small doses. Now I drink water all the time and can handle a good bit more at a time.

Maternity wear -
My clothes started shrinking on me almost right away, but it is just now that I am having a hard time finding ANYTHING that will fit over my growing belly. I keep wanting to make some maternity clothes, but, with trying to plan a move and working through a new business plan, it hasn't happened.
I am keeping my fingers crossed for maybe getting SOMETHING made for Christmas...

Sleep -
PILLOWS EVERYWHERE!!!
I've slowly been adding extra pillows.. one at my back, one under my tummy and between my knees.  I have also had some bad tailbone pain that has me keeping a small pillow with me to sit on when out and about sometimes, otherwise I have a hard time standing again...I hear this is fairly common. Thankfully it is not always extremely bad and I can have some good days where I am in very little pain.  The unfortunate side is that it is said to last until a little while after giving birth...

Entering months six - 23 weeks...
I am feeling so much better! The past week has been a night and day difference!  I started taking the herbalife multivitamin and have been drinking one of their shakes everyday and I have been feeling so good and have so much energy! (More on herbalife soon! So excited about there products!)

I've been back to baking this past month and LOVING that I can make fun treats for the hubby (and I enjoy them too ;-) ). I've been making lots of yummy dinners from scratch and even homemade bread :D

So exited for all the holidays ahead! The weather is gorgeous and I am loving being outside as much as possible.  Hope everyone is enjoying there Fall!
God bless!
